Virtual Run FAQ

Welcome to the Run For The Children Virtual 10K/5K/1K Run!

During this pandemic, our cause is more vital than before.  For those children and their families who are suffering from abuse or children who are in situations of risk, we are dedicated to carrying out The Run For The Children, and are thankful that we can do so in a virtual manner. In this way we can best protect the health and safety of our participants and help to bring hope to those in need.

Who does the race benefit?
Proceeds benefit Virginia’s House in Young County, Dr. Goodall’s House in Stephens County, and the CASA Program in Thockmorton County.

How does a virtual run work?
The Course:  You decide the location where you would like to run or walk, even on a treadmill.  Please follow CDC guidelines and maintain a distance of 6 ft from others from whom you have not been sheltered in place.

The Run:  You will have from 7:00 am Saturday, April 24th 2021 until 11:59 (midnight) Sunday, April 25th, 2021 to do your event.  Registration is open until 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 24th, 2021.  To register:

The Race Bib:  You will receive a link to download and print your bib number.

Timing:  To time your run, use a running app like MapMyRun, Strava, Garmin, etc., and record your time and distance.  We will send you a link to our timing service for you to enter your time, and a link to a video that demonstrates how to do so.  The scores will be tabulated and posted online.

Packets and Swag: Drawstring bag, t-shirt guaranteed if you register by March 26th, 2021. Packet pickup will be from 12-2, Saturday April, 23rd, 2021 at Virginia’s House in Graham.

Prizes: There will be three (3) random drawings for $200 from the list of registered participants
